L'Oréal

Shampoo Packaging

Second version

First version

I worked on the pitch of L'Oréal by making two shrink-packaging concepts for the L'Oréal Hyaluron Pure 72h Purifying Shampoo, for the brand's transition away from traditional sticker labels.

About

The curvy motif on the packaging is a visual metaphor for a hair strand enveloping the bottle, which is used earlier on the hair care packaging of the brand. The background employs transparent and frosted glass textures to reflect the opposing yet complementary properties of hyaluronic acid (bubbly clarity) and salicylic acid (crystal-like texture).

The packaging design uses wavy lines on the sides to visually represent the hair and its texture utilizing the side for shrink packaging, simultaneously creating an interactive path that guides the user to necessary product information. The background features a split aesthetic: transparent and frosted glass on the front symbolizes the bubbly clarity of hyaluronic acid, while the background on the back represents the crystal-like texture of salicylic acid.
